SCANDIUM ARMS

Defence Procurement since 2008

Scandium and Scandium Arms was founded by Mr. Aiman Awad in 2008. The companies were formally incorporated in 2009 and a UK Defence company was established. The companies traded as Scandium and Scandium Arms and the primary focus of the business was to Procure Firearms, Defence and Military Equipment to the Armed Forces of Governments globally. Between 2009 and 2010, Scandium collaborated with a Turkish Defence company to design and manufacture a unique Tactical Shotgun.

In 2019, Scandium Arms Savunma Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Sirketi (Scandium Arms Defence Industry and Trade Limited Company) was established as an independent Turkish Defence Company in Ankara, Türkiye. The physical presence of a Turkish branch earned Scandium global recognition and expanded its operations in the field of Defence Procurement. The company grew substantially as did its clientele in the Middle East and Africa.

By 2020, the structure of the UK company changed. Scandium Holding was established with a Group of Companies;
Scandium Arms, Scandium Aviation, Scandium Maritime, Scandium Medical & Scandium Investment. During 2021 and 2022, Scandium Arms Savunma (Türkiye) produced its own series of Military and Police Firearms, together with light ammunition. Given the performance and reliability of the company, Scandium Arms Savunma officially represented and continues to represent some of the largest manufacturers in Turkey and globally, to supply an extensive range of Defence and Military products to its clients.

As Scandium gained special recognition in Africa, it became essential to establish a further branch in Lusaka, Zambia in 2022. This branch was created to serve the African market and it became the first official Defence Company in the Republic of Zambia. By the end of 2024, Scandium will establish a branch in the Middle East.

In 2025, Scandium will open a Manufacturing facility in Türkiye to further expand its activities and operations.

Mr. Aiman Awad is the Founder, Owner and CEO of Scandium Arms Savunma (Türkiye), Scandium Holding & subsidiary companies (UK) and Scandium (Zambia). Mr. Awad is a British-Born Businessman, well educated in London, United Kingdom and an entrepreneur since the year 2000. Mr. Awad’s interest in World Economy issues and Politics lead to his significant awareness and interest into the Defence Industry. In 2008, Mr. Awad created the name, concept, image and structure of Scandium and Scandium Arms to begin a Defence Procurement Company in London that would procure firearms and ammunition to the Military in the UK and globally. With the collaboration of a Turkish company, Mr. Awad successfully designed and created a Tactical Firearm in 2009-2010. Mr. Awad progressively built global relations with Governments in the Middle East and Africa and gradually began expanding the activities of the company to fulfil the requirements of its clients. During the 2020 Pandemic, Scandium created an exclusive Tri-Valve Military grade mask for Police and Military personnel. In 2021-2022, Mr. Awad created a series of Military and Police Firearms and produced its own ‘Scandium’ branded small ammunition under a third-party manufacturer.

As Mr. Awad gained the trust of many Governments, the operations of Scandium continued to grow and a need for further global branches was necessary. Whilst loyalty, Integrity and trust is the backbone of Scandium’s business; the ability to offer logistical support and Defence solutions in complex scenarios is what has defined Mr. Awad and his Companies. Mr. Awad understands how to manage challenges in the field of Procurement including logistical hurdles. With operations in the UK, Türkiye, Zambia and an upcoming Middle-east office; this has and continues to provide Scandium with a remarkable edge and global advantage. Mr. Awad has plans to open a manufacturing facility by 2025 to further expand its activities and operations and to produce other highly sought Defence products. Given Mr. Awad’s success and performance, he was able to obtain official representation of some of the world’s largest manufacturers including Turkey, under his ‘Scandium’ companies.
